Increase your knowledge of what to do before, during, and after a suicide crisis. 4 Ethics CEs, 2 Suicide CEs

Learning objectives:

1. Participants will build competency around the before, during and after of a suicide crisis
2. Participants will increase awareness of specific ethical standards related to treating and dealing with suicide crisis
3. Participants will consider and compare suicide risk measures that are designed for cultural diversity with those that are not.
4. Participants will begin preliminary assessment and plan for dealing with suicide crisis within their specific agency setting and treatment approach

Course Instructor(s)

  • Jordan K. Harmon, LCSW

    Jordan K. Harmon is the owner, clinical director, and a practitioner at Harmon Psychotherapy & Consulting in Orem, Utah. He provides treatment for chronic suicidality and self-harm, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship struggles. He has extensive training in multiple modalities, including DBT, ACT, EMDR, and ART. He has been a Linehan-board certified DBT provider since 2021.

    Jordan Harmon has has 15+ years of experience working with highly suicidal individuals and is passionate about not only helping struggling clients, but about helping clinicians through one of the most difficult aspects of our jobs.

    He is also the founder of the non-profit, Center for Expanding Compassion, which works to expand evidence-based behavioral science principles to contexts beyond the therapy room.

    When he's not working, you may find him playing saxophone, spending time with friends and family, or working on one of many creative projects.
